Horses are not just about riding!
Horses are great companions as well as being fun to ride.
Newsflash: They are also a lot of work to take care of.
If you have ever dreamed of owning a horse or running a boarding stable or even getting involved in some way in the horse industry, these lessons might be for you! Students taking horse care lessons are, of course, also welcome to take riding lessons, but if you are more timid or just enjoy taking care of horses and watching them, these horse care lessons are just right.
Students taking these lessons can expect to learn:
How to clean stalls
How to set up a feeding program
Tack cleaning
Common illnesses and what to do
Common injuries and how to treat
Hoof care
Annual vet exams
Setting up a barn and routine
Students may try for their Horse Care Badge (see the “Our Program” page for details)
