Our Philosophy

This photo, this right here. This is what it’s all about. This is Sammy. The shadow is Marisa, sitting on the mounting block, hanging out with him. He was Marisa’s first horse that was just hers. She got him when she was a college student in 1998. Sammy was 3 going on 4 and Marisa was 20. She made a promise when she took him on that he would never end up in a bad place.
She believes horses are a lifelong responsibility, and if anything happens to her where she can't keep her horses, they will go to the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation (MHWF) in Wisconsin to become a part of that safety net. She is a supporter and friend of that organization, and Hiddenview Farm currently has 4 horses adopted from MHWF. Horses deserve our care and concern for their safety.
Horses are so much more than riding partners. They are listeners, they are hug recipients, they are calming influences. They are amazing. The fact that the average person these days hasn’t had a chance to experience these wonderful animals is unfortunate. At Hiddenview Farm, we are working to change that. We believe horses should be part of everyone’s life and dreams, regardless of any perceived socioeconomic or racial barricades. You don’t need to be rich to experience a bond with a horse. We strive to make them accessible. We want people to be able to learn about them and love on them, even if you never intend on riding. They have so much to offer beyond that.
Horses are our passion, and we love nothing better than “infecting” others with the “horse bug”! Teaching about horses, horse care, and horseback riding is the best subject to teach. We are excited to share this passion with you.

In the interest of safety and thoroughness, our program is based on a building block style curriculum designed to form a solid base on which to build. The riding classes are basic seat English-style riding, which will transfer to any future equestrian discipline you may want to explore later. We cater specifically to complete beginners and fearful “re-riders”, age 7 and up. Any gender, any race, any socioeconomic background. We will help you grow and meet your goals, and celebrate with you all along the way. Building lifelong horsepeople is our goal!
